Olivia's Journey
Olivia is originally from the Reading, Pennsylvania area where she began her performance career in the second grade by being cast in the children's chorus of "Evita" at Reading Civic Theatre. Growing up in an area with a strong arts community led to many performance opportunities throughout her childhood and into her teenage years. Once in high school, Olivia joined forces with two like minded friends to create a children's birthday party entertainment company called "Enchanted Rose Entertainment." The company did exceptionally well in the Berks County area and led to an exciting feature in the business section of the Reading Eagle Newspaper.
In August of 2013 the company disbanded and Olivia left for college at West Chester University, deciding to major in theatre arts with a concentration in musical theatre and a minor in creative writing. At school Olivia discovered her love of creative writing and took several poetry, fiction, and non fiction courses as part of her minor, though her favorite writing class was a playwriting course taught by Philadelphia actor and professor, Charlie DelMarcelle. Out of this class Olivia created her first one act play, "Ten Minutes 'Till Curtain."
During the summer of 2015 Olivia toured with Ombelico Mask Ensemble Italia in Florence and Calabria, Italy. In the summer of 2016 she toured in a production of "Peter Pan" with Family Stages Children's Theatre in the Greater Philadelphia Area. As a budding playwright, she had "Ten Minutes 'Till Curtain" premier at the Skippack Players Fringe Festival of PA in June of 2016. That summer Olivia also participated in the Wilma Theatre's "Hot House Intensive" workshop taught by Blanka Zizka and Jered McLenigan.
West Chester University gave Olivia many opportunities to hone her craft. She was cast in 6 Mainstage productions and the Student Written One Acts. Each year she also performed in the annual University Theatre produced Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids Benefit Concert and several directing scenes. It was West Chester University that gave a grant to Ombelico Mask Ensemble and allowed them to cast three students as actors for their company and the tour of "Like a Bat Out of Hades" in which Olivia played the lover Alcesti and began her work in Commedia del'Arte and traveling theatre.
After graduation from West Chester Olivia provided the singing voice of "Latina 2" in Traffic Opera, a short film by Cool Ath Filmth. In the fall of 2017 She performed in season 7 of Larry McKenna's "New Voices Cabaret" in Philadelphia and soon after moved to Pittsburgh to work with the touring dinner theatre company, Musical Mysteries and More-- "Dinner Theatre to Die For!" as Ginger Brie Touse in "The Maltese Penguin." In the summer of 2018 Olivia began working with Family Stages once again in their Rehoboth Summer Children's Theatre in residence program at Rehoboth Beach and then rejoined the cast of Musical Mysteries & More that Fall. In 2019 Olivia was a teaching artist at the Yocum Institute in Reading, PA, as well as playing Hansel in "Hansel and Gretel" in their TYA program. Finishing out 2019, Olivia completed her third season with Musical Mysteries & More as Madeline Snow in "The Christmas Comedy Caper of 1958". Olivia attended Kutztown University and just earned her M.Ed. with a certification in Pre-K-4th, graduating in 2020.
After moving to Pigeon Forge, TN, Olivia began performing as various characters at The Great Smoky Mountain Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre Show. In the recent summers of 2023 and 2024, Olivia has joined the company of The Stephen Foster Story in Bardstown, Kentucky where she has played Gussie Jordan, in addition to Joy the stepsister in Rogers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" and Adella the Mermaid in "The Little Mermaid."
In addition to performing, Olivia is currently teaching Kindergarten in the Sevier County School District where she also directs the after school theatre club, the Pittman Players. She is a member of the Children's Media Association and attends regular conferences to learn about puppetry, family friendly entertainment, and discuss creating positive content for children and families.
Olivia's future ambitions include pursuing teaching artist positions with regional children's theaters as well as continuing to write, travel, and perform on stage.
